What it's got

Bay windows, high ceilings and impressive proportions make this a great family home and one you can make your own mark on. The front room is flooded with natural light thanks to the large bay window facing south. An open fireplace makes this a cosy room in the darker months too. The kitchen/breakfast room has storage galore and gives access to the rear garden which is mainly laid to lawn. The dining room has been extended to create and double sized reception room and there is certainly potential to open out further to create an open plan space if desired. All four bedrooms are located on the first floor along with the family bathroom. Both master and second bedroom are generous doubles with the third and fourth singles. The bedrooms at the front enjoy sea glimpses through houses opposite but there is the opportunity to obtain a better view by converting the loft. This would of course be subject to planning but neighbouring properties have already done this.

Where it is

Highland Road is tucked away, as it is a cul-de-sac it’s not necessarily somewhere you would have driven down unless you lived there or had a friend there. It is conveniently located nearby to the local amenities of Ashley Road and also has access to a cut through via Glen Road to nearby Ashley Cross, with its train station and bars and eateries, a short walk away. Located in favoured school catchments it's easy to see why the road is so popular with families.

What the owner says

"What first attracted me to the property was the location. I had no idea there could be such a quiet road so close to Ashley Road. Bizarrely, once inside, my favourite feature was the wide entrance hall. I could picture friends and family on their way in and way out hanging around in there - which has proven to be the case. Some of our best conversations have happened in that hall! We have loved living here. The accommodation is incredibly flexible, which has been perfect for our changing and extending family. The long back room has been everything from a dining room, sitting room, playroom, teenage den, games room, party room and, more recently a bedsit for our son and daughter-in-law. Apart from that, the sea view between the houses opposite, is always the first thing I look at in the morning. We've loved the open fire in the lounge too - so cosy and great for toasted tea cakes! The location has been ideal. It's really peaceful, but a short walk from all the shops and coffee shops on Ashley Road and 4 parks. Poole and Bournemouth are both easily accessible by car, or bus, which was great for our teenage boys. All in all it has been the perfect family home."
