What it's got

This property has been tastefully decorated and modernised over the years by the owners making it a lovely 'homely' house. On the ground floor there is a cosy lounge with bay window, with an open fire it is an ideal place to snuggle up on wintery nights. If you like to entertain and socialise you will love the spacious open plan kitchen/diner/family room. The kitchen is modern in design with lots of storage, breakfast bar, butler sink and utility cupboard. The natural light floods through the windows and patio door. There is also a downstairs cloakroom. Upstairs there are two good size double bedrooms. The master has a wooden tread staircase which leads to the loft room and the second bedroom has a walk in wardrobe. We are told this use to be an en-suite and if desired could be altered back. There is also a fair sized single. The family bathroom is modern. The South facing garden is like an oasis with an abundance of mature exotic plants, shrubs and trees. There are various seating areas to capture the sun and a large wooden shed. To the side of the house there is a covered storage area ideal for watersport equipment, bikes etc which has access to the front. The driveway provides off road parking for 2/3 cars.

Where it is

Ashley Cross is the place to be! Whether you are a family, couple, downsizing or relocating you will not be disappointed it has something for everyone. The 'village' itself has an array of facilities including library, banks, convenience stores, boutiques, doctors surgery, pharmacy etc. But there is also a vast selection of cafes, eateries, trendy bars and fashionable bistros. You can easily access the local parks, schools and the town centre. Parkstone train station is just short walk away with its regular direct routes to Waterloo, London. Sandbanks beach is also just over 3 miles away. You literally have everything on your doorstop.

What the owner says

“We bought the house in 2003. We lived in a smaller cottage in Ashley Cross prior to this but needed somewhere bigger to accommodate our growing family. Off road parking was a must for us. We knew immediately it was a handsome house, and with some imagination and some work, we could envisage the perfect family home. Being in a really central location with Parkstone train station a 3 minute walk away and the bus stop for the main bus routes less than 1 minute walk away, we never worried about our 3 children walking to and from during the dark winter morning and afternoons when leaving and returning from school/college. In the rear garden we created a little oasis, the perfect place for peace in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Ashley Cross. Being south facing, it also made he best venue for parties and BBQ’s! We have had so many great times and occasions in our much loved home, and made so many good friends that we’ll be sorry to say goodbye, but work commitments mean we have to re-locate to a different part of Dorset.”
